Mid-West Art Council
"Art and culture are important to the development and vitality of a community. In a grassroots fashion, the Council promotes the development of art and culture for citizens of all ages within the Midwest Recreation District. To this end, the Council provides a forum for art exhibitions, performances, dance, music, as well as other activities which encourage individual self-expression."

The Mid-West Arts Council follows the same geographical area as the Midwest Recreation District - the R.M. of Hamiota, the Town of Hamiota, the R.M. of Miniota, the R.M. OF Woodworth, and the R.M. of Blanshard.

Art and culture are important to the survival and vitality of our community. In a grassroots fashion, the Council promotes the development of art and culture for citizens of all ages within the area. To this end, the council provides a forum for art exhibitions, performances, adult and Children workshops/classes as well as other activities, which encourage individual self-expression. Past programs include events such as the Strathclair Theatre Chorus, Stained Glass classes, quilting, Paper Making and Jewelry Making. The variety of programs and activities provide residents of all ages with first hand experience in the arts.

The main office is located in the Heritage Arts Centre. The historic Royal Bank building was renovated into a home for the arts in the Midwest area. The centre has exhibition gallery space, workshop space, office and retail space. Rental of the facility is encouraged. Special events and programs are held on a regular basis. (tea at the bank, coffee house, etc)

Heritage Arts Centre regular hours of operation: Monday Wednesday Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For further information about Midwest Arts Council.
